DALLAS - Goaltender Scott Wedgewood will start against the Jets on Saturday afternoon at Canada Life Centre.
This marks Wedgewood's fourth start of the season.
He made a career-high 46 saves in his previous outing on Nov. 2 when the Stars edged the Oilers 4-3 in Edmonton.
With Wedgewood between the pipes, Jake Oettinger gets a well-deserved break ahead of Sunday's road-trip finale in his native Minnesota.
"It’s become more important over the last few years, load management in that position. I think it’s a tougher position than it’s ever been to play. When you look at the goaltending success in the League, a lot of those teams have good tandems that can spot each other off," explained head coach Pete DeBoer, following Friday's practice. "I think we wanted to come into the season with our fingers crossed that we keep both guys healthy, and if they were healthy, we wanted to make sure that we were playing both of them."
Wedgewood has a 2-1-0 record this season, along with a 3.36 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.
Puck drop is 2:00 p.m. CT.
