Could Nate Danielson Make Red Wings Main Roster?
The Red Wings could take a similar approach to other contenders by placing young talent in top-six roles.
With NHL teams increasingly promoting young talent into top roles, the Red Wings might follow suit as they look to fill a top-line left wing spot next to Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond. While veteran James van Riemsdyk is the projected fit, prospects like Carter Mazur and Nate Danielson offer intriguing alternatives.
Danielson, a speedy 20-year-old center, had a solid AHL debut with 39 points and strong two-way play. Though traditionally a center, his versatility and high draft pedigree could earn him a shot on the top line if he impresses at training camp—mirroring the youth-focused strategies used by contenders like Edmonton and St. Louis.
