The former Edmonton Oilers coach will be in California for at least another year.

The Edmonton Oilers have had a number of coaches over the past decade. Each has led to a variety of different results.

One of the most recent coaches has had some success with their newest team. Todd McLellan has been the coach for the Los Angeles Kings for the past four seasons. The last two years the Kings have made it to the playoffs.

McLellan's contract is set to expire at the end of this year. This extension would keep him around until the end of the 2024-25 season.

The McLellan coached Kings have been a handful for the Oilers in the playoffs - primarily because of the systems that he has employed. Unless things go completely off the rails for them, I suspect the Kings will continue to be competitive for as long as McLellan is around.
