On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Marco Rossi, C, MIN @ TOR (46% rostered)
Rossi was recently moved down to the second line but he will be relied upon even more with Kirill Kaprizov sidelined at least four weeks. He has five helpers over his last five contests and is up to 27 apples in 50 contests to go along with 17 goals. Rossi should see an uptick in ice time, both at even-strength and on the man-advantage, allowing him to possibly increase his point output.
Jesper Boqvist, C, FLA vs. LA (2% rostered)
It just seems everything Florida turns to a goal. Signed to a one-year deal this offseason, Boqvist has upped his offensive production recently, earning him a slight uptick in ice time. Boqvist has scored a career-best 12 goals this season while adding eight assists, 53 shots on net, 110 hits and a minus-2 rating over 48 appearances. The 22.6 percent shooting percentage is unsustainable, but Boqvist will continue to get scoring chances due to the team he is on.
Dawson Mercer, C/RW, NJ vs. PHI (9% rostered)
Mercer has struggled offensively lately. He snapped a six-game scoring drought January 22 with a pair of goals but was denied the next two games. Prior to that, he scored January 6, but that came after four games where he was blanked. Mercer is centering New Jersey's second line with Nico Hischier sidelined, which may be what he needs to jumpstart his game.
Thomas Novak, C, NSH vs. VAN (1% rostered)
Novak, primary centering Nashville's third line last season, provided 18 goals and 45 points across 71 regular-season contests. With Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault brought onboard, the expectation was that Novak's production would likely decline. This most certainly has been the case, as Novak has just seven goals and eight assists in 39 contests. But he has shown signs of life lately with two markers and four apples his last four games.
Barrett Hayton, C, UTAH vs. PIT (12% rostered)
Hayton has been red hot recently, notching four goals and four assists over his last six contests. His uptick in production has come while centering Utah's second line of Josh Doan and Matias Maccelli. Hayton is up to 12 markers and 14 apples in 49 games after suffering through an injury-prone and ineffective 2023-24. He is looking like the player who had a breakout 2022-23 campaign and appeared to be on the ascent.
