After missing nine games with a lower-body injury after blocking a shot in Colorado, Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin returned to the lineup against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday.
"I know it's been pretty unlucky here lately, but I hope now I can stay healthy for the rest of the season and playoffs, when the fun starts," Brodin said after the win. "Got some big games left, and I think the team is playing good now. It's fun to be back and happy to get a win tonight."
He played 20:21 of that game and recorded one hit and an assist in the Wild's 4-1 win over Buffalo.
Brodin, 31, got through the whole game and afterwards spoke to us. He said he got through fine and said he was 100 percent.
"We've been really good. Me and Andy Ness have been doing a lot of work. I thought I could play like last week, but we said just do another week, and then train hard," Brodin said. "Before the game I felt ready. Like 100 percent. So, it was good to feel in good shape."
With three games in four days, it might be hard to assume Brodin will be able to get through them all, right?
"Yeah, just take care of it for the rest of the year," Brodin said. Hopefully it's good."
As for playing in back-to-backs on Monday and Tuesday?
"No, I think it's good."
But Wild head coach John Hynes said on Monday morning that Brodin will be out tonight against the Dallas Stars with a lower-body injury. He is considered day-to-day. Declan Chisholm will take his spot.
