The Minnesota Wild (26-12-4) are on the road for a back-to-back before they return home. They face the San Jose Sharks (13-25-6) on Saturday and the Vegas Golden Knights (28-10-3) on Sunday.
Kaprizov, 27, has missed the last seven games with a lower-body injury. He will miss his eighth consecutive game tonight against the Sharks and his ninth on Sunday when the Wild play the Knights.
Not only did Kaprizov not travel with the team, but neither did Jonas Brodin or Brock Faber who were hurt in Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Blues.
The Wild have gone 5-2-0 without Kaprizov but that was with Brodin and Faber in the lineup. Without the three of them, the Wild lost 6-1 on home ice to the Colorado Avalanche.
Wild head coach John Hynes did say that Kaprizov has been skating on his own the last three games so he could return when the Wild host the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday.
