
ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Wild have announced today that they have signed forward Riley Heidt to a three-year, entry-level contract starting in the 2024-25 season.
Heidt, 18, was the Wild's 64th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft and has been playing in the Western Hockey League with the Prince George Cougars.
In 65 games for the Cougars this season, Heidt has recorded 34 goals and 114 points. He became the third player in Cougars history to reach 100 points in a season and became the all-time assist leader in Prince George history this year.
The 5-foot-10 center has recorded 82 goals and 277 career points in 220 games for the Cougars in the WHL. He has 91 career power play assists across four seasons for Prince George as well.
Heidt will have a good chance to showcase himself during the Wild's development came and training camp next season and will be a huge part of the Wild's future going forward.
