The Minnesota Wild are heading into their three-game homestand against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday, Nashville Predators on Thursday and Anaheim Ducks on Saturday with two wins in a row after a largely successful three-game road trip.
The Wild defeated the Florida Panthers 6-2 on Friday and the Carolina Hurricanes 5-2 on Sunday after losing 7-3 to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday. The Wild earned four out of a possible six points on the trip and are now within six of the Predators — who sit in the second wild-card spot.
The Wild — who have 10 days off from Jan. 28 to Feb. 6 — aim to continue their momentum during this week's homestand before the break.
