The Minnesota Wild claimed left-shot defenseman Declan Chisholm off waivers from the Winnipeg Jets on Monday, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
This addition gives the Wild even more blueline depth after they acquired defenseman Will Butcher from the Pittsburgh Penguins last Thursday for forward Maxim Cajkovic.
Chisholm, 24, has five assists in six games with the AHL's Manitoba Moose this season, in addition to two games with the Jets — where he recorded his first NHL point on Dec. 2.
The 6-foot-1 left-shot defender recorded five goals and 43 points in 59 games with the Moose last season, but he didn't make an NHL appearance.
Overall, Chisholm has one point, a +2 rating and a 12:15 average time on ice total across his first four NHL games. His first two NHL games came during the 2021-22 campaign, and he made his NHL debut with the Jets on Jan. 13, 2022.
Chisholm has a $775,000 cap hit and is a pending restricted free agent. The Jets drafted him in the fifth round (No. 150) of the 2018 NHL Draft.
