After playing in Canada's intrasquad scrimmage on Tuesday, Nashville Predators fifth overall pick Brady Martin is "out" in the Canadian's first game of the World Junior Summer Showcase against Finland on Wednesday.
According to The Athletic's Scott Wheeler, Martin and Seattle Kraken prospect Berkly Catton were not ruled as healthy scratches prior to Wednesday's game. They were replaced by Braeden Cootes (Vancouver) and Malcolm Spence (New York Rangers).
Martin skated at right wing on the third line centered by Cole Beaudoin (Utah) with Cole Reschny (Calgary). He recorded an assist on a Spencer Gill (Philadelphia) goal in the scrimmage.
The Predators' other first-round pick, playing for Team Canada, defenseman Cameron Reid, was not listed in the lineup against Finland.
