Cody Glass could return to the Predators' lineup tonight against the Maple Leafs after missing nine games with an upper body injury.

Nashville may see the return of center Cody Glass tonight as the Predators take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena. Glass left the November 20 game against the Colorado Avalanche late in the third period and was placed on IR the following day with an upper body injury.

It's been a tough season for Glass who has only played nine games so far in 2023-24. Glass was injured in the Predators' game against the New York Rangers on October 19 and placed on IR October 20 with a lower body injury. Fortunately the injury — reportedly a knee injury —  was not as serious as initially feared, and Glass was able to return to the lineup for the Predators on November 11 against the Arizona Coyotes. Just three games later, Glass left with his upper body injury against the Avs.

In his nine games so far this season, Glass hasn't been able to find his groove yet only recording one point, an assist in the game against Colorado. In training camp and preseason, it appeared Glass would partner with veteran Gustav Nyquist, but Nyquist has found his place on the top line in Glass's absence with Filip Forsberg and Ryan O'Reilly.

How tonight's lineup and the lineup going forward will sift out with Glass's return remains to be seen. Players who have been healthy scratches earlier in the season like Michael McCarron and Phil Tomasino have been playing some of their best hockey in recent games, and their forechecking line will play an important part in tonight's game plan against the Leafs.
