Darren Dreger has reported that the New Jersey Devils and Dawson Mercer have reached an agreement on a new contract extension.
The reported deal is a three-year deal at $4 million per season. This is right around what the reports were earlier this week by numerous insiders.
The team's hope was that he was ready to go to Prague on Friday, Oct. 4th and 5th. Especially after missing day one of training camp, where newly hired head coach Sheldon Keefe had his players bag skating.
Now that the Mercer saga is over, the Devils can re-evaluate their roster and the PTO's that they signed with $1.75 million in cap space. Of course, this could change depending on if Luke Hughes and Brett Pesc end up on LTIR.
Take a deep breath, Devils' fans; Mercer is back!
