After defeating the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers on Sunday, the New York Islanders woke up on Monday morning four points back of the second wild-card New York Rangers.
With only 16 games left to go, the Islanders certainly need to get some scoreboard help to give themselves a shot at qualifying for the postseason.
And scoreboard help they got on Monday night.
The Columbus Blue Jackets, who sit two points ahead of the Islanders, fell 2-1 in regulation to the New Jersey Devils. They also have played one more game than Long Island, with the two sides going head-to-head to conclude the regular season on Apr. 17.
The Philadelphia Flyers, who sit four points behind the Islanders, were shut out 2-0 by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The only game that didn't go perfectly for the Islanders was the Boston Bruins getting a point against the Buffalo Sabres in a 3-2 overtime loss.
With the point, Boston jumped the Islanders. However, the Islanders have three games in hand.
On Tuesday night, the Islanders battle the Pittsburgh Penguins, who trail them by two points in the standings.
If the Islanders win, there's a chance they wake up on Wednesday morning two points back of the second wild-card spot, with two games in hand.
Also in action are the Ottawa Senators going up against the Montreal Canadiens.
Ottawa, 77 points, holds down the top wild-card spot, with Montreal a point back of the Rangers. So, the Islanders certainly would like to see Ottawa take this one in regulation.
The Rangers are hosting the Calgary Flames. The Eastern Conference-leading Washington Capitals host the Detroit Red Wings, who are two points back of the second wild-card spot.
Puck drop between the Islanders and Penguins comes your way at 7 PM ET.
