Barclay Goodrow Reportedly Unhappy With Rangers And Move To Sharks
While Chris Drury and the New York Rangers may be happy with their recent salary dump move, Barclay Goodrow is reportedly not too pleased.
The Rangers waived Goodrow on Tuesday and he was claimed by the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday.
According to The New York Posts’ Larry Brooks, Goodrow is not happy about how this whole situation unfolded.
Brooks reported there is a belief that Goodrow included the Sharks on his 15-team, no-trade list, but still ended up in San Jose despite his lack of interest to play on a non-contending team.

The 31-year-old forward still had three years remaining on his six-year contract, with a cap hit of $3,641,667.
Despite having an impressive playoff performance, Goodrow was underwhelming in the regular season as he had just four goals, eight assists and 12 points in 80 games.
This was strictly a money decision for the Rangers, who are looking to clear cap space for this offseason where they could make a big move.
Drury said that “nothing is off the table” for what he may do this offseason and he seems to be following his philosophy by making a cut-throat move of this magnitude.
Yes, Goodrow served a valuable role as a two-way forward and leader in New York, but the Rangers are competing for a Stanley Cup, so sometimes hard decisions like Goodrow’s release have to be made.
