The Tampa Bay Lightning were dangling forward Isaac Howard in trade talks after he told them he wouldn't sign a contract. They were looking for the best offer and got it when the Edmonton Oilers offered forward Sam O'Reilly.
The Oilers then signed Howard to an entry-level contract, meaning he is turning pro and forfeiting the 2025-26 college hockey season.
