Penguins center Evgeni Malkin was ruled out for Tuesday's game against Columbus and is day-to-day with an upper-body injury

It appears the Pittsburgh Penguins are short one of their star centers for a Metropolitan Division matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

Second-line center Evgeni Malkin did not appear during warm-ups, and the team announced that he will miss Tuesday's game and is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

In his place, Cody Glass will center the second line, and Anthony Beauvillier has been put in the lineup in Malkin's place:

Malkin, 38, has eight goals and 32 points in 41 games on the season. He has just three goals in his last 25 games.

And, according to Penguins historian Bob Grove, this will snap a streak of 209 consecutive games where Malkin and captain Sidney Crosby have both been in the lineup.
