The Seattle Forward Talks Changing Positions & The Best "Chirpers"
Taking Wing: "Honestly, I came into camp, I didn't really know what to expect. I didn't really know what the team is going to look like, how things were going to shake out. So I think I kind of earned everything this year that was given to me. I showed I can do a lot of things up and down the lineup.
"I've never played wing in my entire life that sustained. I've done shifts here and there but never games. It's a little different game, a little slower paced. At the same time, you've got to get good jumps on pucks. A lot more north-south skating. It takes a little weight off your shoulders in the D-zone for sure.
"I like playing with Wenny (Alex Wennberg) and Schwartzy (Jaden Schwartz). I thought I did a good job of creating space for them, a lot of opportunities. So I'd definitely be open to continue playing wing if I could keep playing with those guys. I'll play anywhere. I just want to play."
Best On The Team At "Chirping" Opponents: "We got a few. It kind of depends which way you want to go. Tanz (Brandon Tanev) is pretty straight to the point.
"Borgs (Will Borgen) is a little more light-hearted. Matty (Beniers) is a little more light-hearted. Whenever Tolvy (Eeli Tolvanen, from Finland) does it, it's just funnier because he has an accent.
"I think all the Europeans on our team think they're way funnier than they are because of their accents. But it's hilarious. I think Lars (Adam Larsson) is the funniest guy on the team."
