Seattle Hosts Tampa Bay on "Indigenous People's Night"

    Image

The goal-challenged Seattle Kraken will have to try and break their six game losing streak without two of their offensive engines.

Against the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight at Climate Pledge Arena, Seattle will be minus Jaden Schwartz, who remains on injured reserve. Joining him on IR is Andre Burakovsky, who sustained a new injury Thursday in the Kraken's loss to the New Jersey Devils. Both players are described as "week-to-week."

The injury to Burakovsky is especially troubling, as he had spent 20 games on IR before the Devils game.

Seattle ranks 29th in the league in scoring, 2.59 goals per game. The team hasn't had more than three goals - nor has it held a lead at any point - in their six-pack of losses.

Theme Game, Last Meeting, Scouting The Lightning

The theme for Saturday's game is "Indigenous People's Night."

Jared McCann scored the OT winner in Seattle's 4-3 win at Tampa.

In their earlier meeting this season, Seattle beat the Lightning in Tampa 4-3 on October 30. Jared McCann (team-leading 12 goals) scored the game-winner in overtime, adding to earlier goals from Brian Dumoulin, former Lightning Yanni Gourde, and Kailer Yamamoto.

Our Kraken Reaction video features THN Lightning site editor Diandra Loux.

We discuss why this has been an unusually roller-coaster season for the perennial Eastern Conference powerhouse.
