In this case, the new arrival is veteran winger Tomas Tatar, expected to start on Seattle's first line.
Tatar's arrival, via a Friday trade with Colorado, is just in time because regular first line wing Jordan Eberle has joined the Seattle injury ward. He's listed as day-to-day with a lower body injury.
Eberle joins injured regulars Jaden Schwartz and Andre Burakovsky, as well as goalie Philipp Grubauer.
Schwartz was moved Friday onto LTIR, while Burakovsky and Grubauer are described as week-to-week.
