St. Louis Blues prospect Justin Carbonneau closed the World Junior Prospect Showcase on Saturday with a win.
The No. 19 pick in the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft also had an assist to boot for Canada in a 6-2 win against the United States at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis on Saturday.
Carbonneau, who played in each of Canada's four games during the weeklong tournament that also featured Finland and Sweden, assisted on a goal by Michael Misa, (first round, No. 2 overall in 2025, San Jose Sharks) that iced the win with an empty-net goal that gave Canada a 5-2 lead with 1:52 remaining in the third period by getting in on a forecheck and knocking a puck away into open space:
Carbonneau, who recently announced he was returning to Blainville-Boisbriand of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, finished with two assists in the tournament; he will attend Blues training camp in mid-September and leave the door open to possibly win a job to the NHL this season.
Also, goalie Love Harenstam of Sweden, a 2025 sixth-round pick, did not dress for Sweden's 301 loss against Finland in Saturday's opener.
Harenstam made 21 saves on Friday in Sweden's 8-4 win against Canada.
