While the majority of this year's top unrestricted free agents (UFAs) have been signed, there are still players looking for their new homes. A handful of them are former St. Louis Blues, so let's take a look at four of them.
After spending the 2024-25 season with the Blues, defenseman Ryan Suter remains a UFA at this point in the summer. There is certainly a chance that the 40-year-old blueliner will hang up the skates. However, if he is open to continuing his career, there could be a team out there willing to sign him to a one-year deal.
In 82 games this past season with the Blues, Suter recorded two goals, 15 points, 109 blocks, and a plus-7 rating.
Former Blues first-overall pick Erik Johnson has yet to sign with a new team this off-season. The 37-year-old defenseman spent this past season split between the Philadelphia Flyers and Colorado Avalanche, recording two goals, five points, 59 hits, and a plus-1 rating in 36 games.
Teams looking for more defensive depth and experience on their blueline could consider signing Johnson to a one-year contract if he does not retire. In 203 games over three seasons as a Blue, he had 20 goals, 71 assists, and 91 points.
Former Blues forward Robby Fabbri is also still looking for his new home at this juncture of the summer. The 29-year-old spent this past season with the Anaheim Ducks, where he recorded eight goals and 16 points in 44 games. Overall, it was a tough season for him, but his past success could lead to a team giving him a one-year deal or professional tryout (PTO).
Fabbri was selected by the Blues with the 21st overall pick of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. In four seasons with the St. Louis, he had 32 goals and 73 points.
Longtime St. Louis Blues defenseman Robert Bortuzzo is also still a free agent. The 6-foot-4 defenseman spent this past season with Utah, where he recorded two assists, 21 hits, and a minus-2 rating in 17 games.
Bortuzzo spent 10 seasons with the Blues from 2014-15 to 2023-24, where he had 16 goals, 54 points, 782 hits, and a plus-46 rating.
