According to BetMGM, the Avalanche are the early favorites to win the Stanley Cup next year, the Maple Leafs listed behind them.
The Lightning are finally on the other side of free agency, one of the toughest they’ve seen in recent years. The team enters training camp with a well-rested yet familiar core, plenty of new faces and a younger team overall. Many of the 2020 and 2021 Stanley Cup veterans have moved on, but with Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point and Victor Hedman on the roster, their odds to make a return are still relatively good.
We got a small sample size of what Tanner Jeannot and Mikey Eyssimont can do under playoff pressure. Eyssimont put his speed on full display vs Toronto, snagging his first career postseason goal and giving the Lightning a small buffer in a Game 5, a game that could have gone either way.
We'll know more on new additions Conor Sheary, Josh Archibald, Calvin de Haan, Logan Brown and Luke Glendening as the season builds. Sheary and Archibald each have Stanley Cup rings from their days playing in Pittsburgh. Glendening played 17 playoff games this past season with Dallas, his team advanced to the Western Conference Final.
BetMGM recently released their updated odds for each team in the league for the 2023-24 season. The site has the Lightning listed at 9th (+1400) to win the Stanley Cup and 3rd (+325) to win the Atlantic Division. Toronto (+300) and Boston (+325) sit right above them.
