The Colorado Avalanche have announced that they have signed Barre-Boulet to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2025-26 season.

Barre-Boulet appeared in two games this past season with the Montreal Canadiens, where he posted zero points and a minus-2 rating. He spent most of the 2024-25 season with their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Laval Rocket, recording 22 goals and 63 points in 64 games.

Barre-Boulet, 28, spent multiple years with the Lightning organization. In 66 games over four seasons as a Bolt, he recorded 12 goals, 17 points, and a minus-9 rating. His time with the Lightning ended during the 2024 NHL off-season after he signed with the Canadiens in free agency.

Barre-Boulet was a very impactful player for the Lightning's AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, during his time with the organization. In 294 games with the Crunch, he recorded 113 goals, 189 assists, and 302 points.
