Former Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Louis Domingue joins a long list of former NHL players to make the move to European hockey.

Domingue played with the Lightning for two seasons, from 2017 to 2019, recording 28 wins in 38 games. The 33-year-old also posted a .910 SP and a 2.88 GAA. Domingue was the backup netminder to Andrei Vasilevskiy when the Lightning won 62 games. That season, Domingue won 21 of his 28 starts.

Throughout his career, Domingue has played with seven NHL teams those being the Arizona Coyotes, Lightning, New Jersey Devils, Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Rangers

Following his departure from the Lightning organization, Domingue has struggled to maintain a role in the NHL. The season following his exit, he played 14 games with the Devils, but since then, he has had just one start in four of the last five seasons, with the fifth season amassing just two starts.

Domingue did have his moment to shine in the 2021-22 playoffs with the Penguins, playing in five games after Tristan Jarry and Casey DeSmith suffered injuries. Domingue stepped into Game 1 of the series in double overtime against the Rangers, stopping all 17 shots he faced as the Penguins eventually won the game in triple overtime.
