The Tampa Bay Lightning could use more forward depth, and the waiver wire now has an interesting option worth considering.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have placed forward Jesse Puljujarvi on waivers. With the Lightning needing help at right wing, he is an affordable player they should consider taking a shot on.
Puljujarvi, 26, has appeared in 21 games this season, where he has three goals and eight points. While he has been decent for the Pens this season, he has not played since Dec. 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

While Puljujarvi became the odd man on the Penguins' roster, he could still be a solid player for the Lightning to bring in. The former top prospect has shown in the past that he can be impactful, as he posted 14 goals and a career-high 36 points in 65 games with the Edmonton Oilers back in 2021-22.
If the Lightning claimed Puljujarvi, he would give them another forward with skill in their bottom six. In addition, the 6-foot-4 winger does provide some physicality, too, posting 30 hits in 21 games this campaign.
Nevertheless, we will need to wait and see if the Bolts take a shot on him. On paper, it looks like there could be a good fit.
