Brandon Hagel is the 7th player in NHL history to make a penalty shot on Opening Night.

Brandon Hagel spoke with the media following the Lightning's 5-3 win vs Nashville on Tuesday.

Hagel became the 7th player in NHL history to capitalize on a penalty shot in Opening Night. He beat Nashville goaltender Juuse Saros over the blocker for a goal.

The Lightning have multiple new additions to their roster but chemistry seems to be going well in the locker room. As the salary cap creates somewhat of a high turnover, the veteran players have been known for creating a welcoming environment.

"I think everyone's excited to get back obviously, the ending of last season wasn't the way we wanted to do it. Everyone's excited. Big game, obviously. We go on on the road against three new teams that have been improving over the years and are supposed to be really good this year. Obviously get the win tonight, and kind of carry that momentum into those buildings."

The Lighting hit the road for the first time this season. They'll face the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night, the Ottawa Sentors on Sunday and the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night.
