Jon Gillies, who signed a professional tryout contract with the Maple Leafs before training camp, is also among the goaltenders joining the Marlies.
Kressler, Voit, Villeneuve, Hildeby, and Peksa are all under contract with the Maple Leafs. The rest of the players are on AHL contracts.
Abruzzese signed a two-year, $1.55 million extension with Toronto as a restricted free agent on July 31, 2023. The 25-year-old fourth-round pick (124th overall) in 2019 had 16 goals and 36 assists in 71 games with AHL Toronto last season.
The Maple Leafs will be icing a roster with plenty of AHL-bound players on Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings. Roni Hirvonen, Alex Nylander (AHL contract), Cedric Pare, Jacob Quillan, Mikko Kokkonen, and Cade Webber, among others, are likely to join the Marlies at some point before the regular season begins.
