Clayton Keller has had an excellent start to the 2023-24 season as he continues to establish himself as a legitimate NHL star.
When Clayton Keller suffered a gruesome leg injury at the end of the 2021-22 season, there were some doubts whether or not he would even be able to come back as the same player.
Despite all of the uncertainty surrounding the All-Star forward, Keller came out and had his best statistical season tallying 37 goals, 49 assists and 86 points while playing all 82 games.
Now through the first 14 games of the 2023-24 campaign, Keller is picking up right where he left off as he currently has six goals, nine assists and 15 points.
Keller continues to be the Coyotes most valuable forward and arguably most valuable player. He is playing 19:52 minutes a game while being the focal point of both the first line and main power play unit.
It’s been Keller’s shot that has proven to be the most lethal part of his game to start the year. His wicked shot from the red circle in the offensive zone has proven to be so effective and the Coyotes most lethal weapon on the man advantage.
The 25-year-old’s ability to move and glide so freely with the puck on the ice is just phenomenal to watch. He is just able to move so effortlessly and is a threat to score or create a scoring chance each and every time he touches the puck.
At the pace he is on right now, it’s very possible that Keller breaks his career highs from last season and maybe even touch the 100-point mark if he continues to elevate his game.
Enjoy this. Keller is at potentially the peak of his prime now and should continue to play at a high level for many more years.
The Keller show is just beginning.
