The NHL All-Stars will be announced tomorrow and Arizona Coyotes goaltender Connor Ingram should be on that list of 32 players.
It’s no coincidence that the Coyotes have had a resurgence this season as they currently hold the second wild card spot in the Western Conference with a 19-15-2 record and 40 points.
While the Coyotes have a really solid core mixed with veterans and exciting young talent, a big reason for their success has been due to the fantastic play of Ingram.
It’s safe to say that Clayton Keller will most likely be named an All-Star, but that doesn't mean Ingram can’t either.
Ingram currently has the second best goals against average in the Central Division, sitting at 2.49. He is also tied with Connor Hellebuyck for the best save percentage in the Central with a .920. The 26-year-old’s 13-7 record and whopping four shutouts speak for itself.
Two goalies are selected for each division so if the stats have anything to say about, Ingram should be a lock to make the All-Star Game.
Along with his impressive stats, it should be considered how much of an impact he has made for this Coyotes team.
Arizona's playoff drought has now gone on for the past three seasons. Ingram’s increased role has helped the Coyotes wildly exceed expectations which should certainly not go unnoticed.
He may not have the name recognition of some other goalies in the NHL, but Ingram is playing at an elite level and is fully deserving of being an All-Star.
