Arizona Coyotes goaltender Connor Ingram is expected to miss a little bit of time.
Ingram suffered a mysterious injury during Wednesday night’s game against the Minnesota Wild and did not return to play in the third period.
Following the game, coach André Tourigny gave an estimated timeline on how long the team will be without their top goaltender.
“No, he is not ok, but he should not be long, seven to ten days… No clue,” Tourigny said about when Ingram’s injury occurred. “I don’t know, They told me after the period he was going out and it will be about a week.”
What exact injury Ingram suffered is still unclear.
If Ingram is out for a long period of time, the Coyotes may be in trouble as he has been at times the team’s best player on the ice.
The 26-year-old has a 17-13-2 record, 2.76 goals against average and .912 save percentage to go along with five shutouts.
In Ingram’s absence, Karel Vejmelka will have to carry a heavy load on his shoulders and take over the starting goaltender role.
PHNX Sports’ Craig Morgan reported that the Coyotes plan to recall goalie Matt Villalta from the Tucson Roadrunners while Ingram recovers from his injury.
