LAS VEGAS -- Tomas Hertl spent the first 11 seasons of his career in San Jose.
And while a part of his heart remains in the Silicon Valley, the part he brings on the ice is now in Las Vegas.
Hertl will face the Sharks for the first time since they traded him to Vegas in March when the teams take the ice at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night.
"I looking forward to (it)," he said after Friday's 6-4 win over Ottawa. "You know, it's still probably be different (that) we play here, then San Jose eventually. But, you know, I was there 11 years, so it's long time, and I have some great time.
"This is number one team for me, I still obviously follow them and I got friends and the team give me everything, but I want to bring best and get another two points."
While the Golden Knights have opened the season 5-2-1 and sit in a tie atop the Pacific Division, his former squad is the only team in the league without a win, at 0-6-2.
Hertl, who has four goals and four assists in the first eight games, said San Jose's rough start has limited contact with is former teammates, knowing it might be a bit awkward.
"Obviously, it's tough, because I saw what is happening there - so it's not easy," he said. "Obviously, if we didn't play (Friday) I probably be with a lot of guys for the dinner.
"But I probably see them tomorrow after (the) game. I just want to play good game and have two points. And enjoy the talk after the game."
