In this week's edition of Monday Morning Headlines, we take a look at the active point streaks of Jack Eichel and Tomas Hertl, the newly named third line sparking a big win over the Florida Panthers and we check in on how former Vegas Golden Knights are doing around the NHL.

Eichel and Hertl each finished with a goal against the Panthers on Sunday, extending their point streaks to six and nine games. Eichel scored on a breakaway to regain the Golden Knights' two-goal lead and with the Panthers' goaltender pulled, Hertl recorded his 18th goal of the season in the empty net.

Expectations were high for both Eichel and Hertl and so far they have delivered.

Tanner Pearson, Nicolas Roy and Keegan Kolesar skated together on the Golden Knights' third line and put together an outstanding performance. Roy finished the night with three assists, Kolesar recorded two of his own and Pearson scored his ninth of the season. The trio have been vital to the Golden Knights success and playing together brought out the best of their games.

    Former Golden Knights

Chicago Blackhawks' Alec Martinez found himself on the losing end of another game, remaining in last place in the NHL. The Blackhawks' schedule doesn't get much easier, playing the Tampa Bay Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes and the Panthers on the road before returning home to take on the Edmonton Oilers.

Toronto Maple Leafs' Ryan Reaves had his first fight of the season against the Columbus Blue Jackets' enforcer Mathieu Olivier. They each landed some hefty punches in what was a fairly even tilt.

Ottawa Senators' Michael Amadio continues to find life difficult since leaving the Golden Knights. He's recorded just two goals and 11 points in 40 games and hasn't scored since Nov. 12.

Buffalo Sabres' Alex Tuch recorded his 16th goal of the season on Saturday but the Sabres remain 14 points out of a playoff spot and in 30th place in the NHL.

Sabres' Peyton Krebs has also continued to struggle to produce offensively. He has just one goal since Nov. 23, and four on the season.
