The Capitals held their annual Canine Calendar photoshoot on Friday.

ARLINGTON, V.A. — After a busy practice on Friday, the Washington Capitals unwound with puppies and pictures as they hosted their annual Caps Canine Calendar photoshoot on Friday.

Players brought their own dogs while also posing with puppies from Wolf Trap Animal Rescue, a longtime partner of the team and their calendar.

Newcomers Max Pacioretty and Joel Edmundson went first, with Pacioretty rocking a Mantha jersey and Edmundson introducing him to his doggo.

Then, Matthew Phillips and Anthony Mantha took pictures with a Zamboni, as Phillips posed with a rescue and Mantha posed with his dog, Millie. Phillips was taken aback by his rescue puppy, who is just seven weeks old.

Next up: John Carlson and T.J. Oshie, who posed with their dogs on the bench.

After that, Darcy Kuemper and Charlie Lindgren took to the net with their dogs, Rogue and Riley. The tandem has seen their dogs become close friends after meeting for the first time — and Riley could barely contain his energy when he hit the ice.

Rogue also stole Riley's stick during the photoshoot and posed with two sticks at once.

Tom Wilson then took the ice and stole the show with arguably the best part of the photoshoot: pictures with a Wolf Trap puppy named "Bad Boy Bunny" and his own rescue, Halle, in the penalty box. Wilson was in his jersey, while Halle was wearing a referee uniform and whistle.

Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov then posed with their dogs, Blake and Peppa. Nicklas Backstrom posed with rescue puppies at the podium, and Connor McMichael and Beck Malenstyn also posed with their dogs, Knight and Wrigley, in the Capitals locker room.
