ARLINGTON, V.A. -- As the Washington Capitals enter a critical weekend, they are also again dealing with a couple of injuries, with T.J. Oshie and now Trevor van Riemsdyk hurting.
Van Riemsdyk is out with an upper-body injury and could miss at least a week. It is unclear what happened or how he suffered the injury, but he did finish the game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday.
Meanwhile, T.J. Oshie is day-to-day with an upper-body injury he suffered in the first period of Thursday's tilt in Tampa. Oshie finished out the period but did not return for the final 40 minutes. He had taken heavy contact earlier on in the frame.
Charlie Lindgren is also not skating due to a non-COVID illness.
On the bright side in D.C., Sonny Milano was skating in a regular jersey, indicating that he's upgraded from non-contact. He has been dealing with an upper-body injury since last week.
Milano said he was feeling better, and head coach Peter Laviolette added after practice that No. 15 would be a "game-time decision."
