WASHINGTON – Pump-up music filled the Washington Capitals locker room following a hard-earned victory over the San Jose Sharks on Sunday, and some antics ensued postgame as well.
Tom Wilson picked up his 300th career point and the game-winning goal, and Dylan Strome and Evgeny Kuznetsov also scored en route to a 3-1 win over the struggling Sharks.
"A lot of confidence in this group," Darcy Kuemper said.
Here's what the team had to say postgame.
TOP QUOTES
On the turning point and resilience these last few games: “Yeah I think it kind of started in Montreal. We felt like we had some chances in that game and obviously the start of the season was pretty start. It kinda started there. We’ve had that belief ever since then. We obviously had a little blip against Toronto but other than that, I feel like since Montreal... ever since that game we found a way to put some goals in the back of the net.”
On his 300th point: “It’s pretty cool. Obviously took me long enough but it’s a kudos to all the guys that I’ve played with and I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Backy, Ovi, Osh, Kuzy, all those guys who have kind of brought me along, leaders in this room that have showed me the way, gave me some empty nets and made some nice plays along the way. So it’s what’s great about hockey, guys helping each other out and feel pretty fortunate to reach a milestone like that.”
