The AHL continues to see a number of their players head overseas to continue their playing careers, and the Hershey Bears lost another one as Alex Limoges signed with the KHL's Dinamo Minsk in Belarus.
The Winchester, Virginia, native has spent the last two seasons with Hershey while under contract with the Capitals, putting up 95 points in 115 games while also helping the Bears to a Calder Cup in 2024.
He's played in the AHL for the last five years. While he didn't get an NHL game during his tenure, the 27-year-old had upside and was a strong option for D.C. to have in the pipeline.
Limoges joins a hefty number of former Bears to sign in Europe for 2025-26, including Mike Vecchione, Mike Sgarbossa, Chase Priskie, Pierrick Dubé and Riley Sutter. What's lucrative about the KHL is the change in scenery and the ability to play in the highest level overseas, as well as the salary.
One way or another, it's a fresh start for Limoges and a chance for him to continue to excel.
