The Washington Capitals are finally at the end of their lengthy road swing up north, as their five-game stretch culminates with one last visit to the Ottawa Senators, who D.C. saw just a couple weeks back.
Here is everything to know before puck drop at 7 p.m. ET at Canadian Tire Centre.
The Capitals aren't expected to make any line changes, sticking with what worked as they look to generate more momentum at 5-on-5.
Expect Charlie Lindgren in net as the goaltending rotation continues.
Here are the projected combinations:
Alex Ovechkin-Dylan Strome-Tom Wilson
Aliaksei Protas-Pierre-Luc Dubois-Connor McMichael
Taylor Raddysh-Lars Eller-Ethen Frank
Brandon Duhaime-Nic Dowd-Andrew Mangiapane
Rasmus Sandin-John Carlson
Martin Fehervary-Matt Roy
Jakob Chychrun-Trevor van Riemsdyk
Charlie Lindgren
Logan Thompson
- Aliaksei Protas is riding a five-game point streak and continues to stand out for the Capitals up front.
- Pierre-Luc Dubois has goals in four of his last five games and six points in the last five overall. His 24 points over the last 25 games lead Washington.
- Jakob Chychrun has points in three of his last five outings.
- Watch out for Dylan Strome; he busted out of a lengthy goal drought last game and is looking stronger over this recent stretch.
- Of course, that also means watch for Alex Ovechkin, who has been hungry to get back to his high-scoring ways, too. He had the OT winner the last time these two teams met.
- Tom Wilson has also been dangerous, and with his grit, expect fireworks against Brady Tkachuk.
