A second-period collapse from the Winnipeg Jets powered the St. Louis Blues to a 5-1 win and tied the series at 2-2.
The first period concluded with the teams tied 1-1, thanks to Kyle Connor's third goal of the playoffs. After an extended shift in the Blues' zone, Connor pounced on a loose puck to shovel it into the goal.
Jake Neighbours deflected a Colton Parayko point shot to tie the game, scoring his first career playoff goal. Neighbours was left unmarked in front of Connor Hellebuyck for multiple seconds prior to the goal.
The second period saw the Blues take over, scoring three unanswered goals. Tyler Tucker, Brayden Schenn and Justin Faulk were the goal scorers, two of which came off of point shots. Despite the advantage in goals, the Blues outshot the Jets by just one shot, 12-11.
Robert Thomas extended the lead to 5-1, 2:01 into the third period, after miscommunication between Connor and Josh Morrissey. The goal resulted in Hellebuyck being pulled from the net for the second straight game.
This afternoon's outing proved to be another difficult one in what's becoming a long list of poor outings in the playoffs, allowing five goals on 18 shots. Jordan Binnington was stellar, stopping 30 of the 31 shots he faced.
The Jets return home for Game 5 on Wednesday.
