Jets select Swedish defenceman 37th overall.
The Winnipeg Jets have drafted defenceman Alfons Freij 37th overall in the second round of the 2024 NHL Draft.
He is six feet tall and weighs 200 pounds. He is from Sweden and has decent size and speed. Freij served a big role on the Swedish U18 team.
His skill set stems heavily from his point shot and active presence on the blueline. The left-shooting defenceman had 14 goals and 33 points in 40 games for Vaxjo of the SJL.
