Former Winnipeg Jets forward Nate Thompson is hanging up the skates, for good.

Oh, and he suited up on a whopping nine different teams over that timeframe.
The Anchorage, Alaska product has spent time with the Boston Bruins, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning, Anaheim Ducks, Ottawa Senators, Los Angeles Kings, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, and of course the Jets.
"From the time I was four until 38, hockey has been my life and best friend," Thompson shared in a message on Twitter. "I'm beyond grateful and thankful for all the great people I've met and friendships I made. All good things must come to an end so thank you to all who supported me along this journey."
The Seattle Thunderbirds alum was drafted in the sixth round of the 2003 NHL Draft by the Bruins, to which he ultimately went on to produce 65 goals and 164 points as a bottom-six forward in the regular season, while adding another eight goals and 21 points in 86 postseason games.
Following his season with the Jets, Thompson returned to Philadelphia for the 2021-22 season. He played 33 games and scored once while adding a couple helpers, to go alongside 31 penalty minutes.
