Rick Bowness has returned to the Winnipeg Jets following his leave of absence.

The Winnipeg Jets will have a friendly face back behind the bench on Friday evening in Florida.

On Friday morning, Rick Bowness made his return to the team following a lengthy stretch away with family on the heels of a medical emergency.

On October 23, the Jets announced that coach Bowness would take a leave of absence as he dealt with a medical situation involving his wife, Judy, who had suffered a seizure.

32 days later, the 68-year-old is back with the team and ready to take back over from interim head coach Scott Arniel, who led the club to an outstanding 9-2-2 record in Bones' absence.

The Jets are 11-5-2 on the season and have secured points in 12 of their last 14 games. They are currently riding a four-game winning streak.

Winnipeg faces the Florida Panthers on Friday at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise. Bowness is expected to lead the team through morning skate, before standing atop the bench come puck drop.

The game can be viewed live on TSN at 7:00 PM.
