The Pittsburgh Penguins made a special announcement on Tuesday when they relaunched their Hall of Fame.
The original Penguins' Hall of Fame ran from 1992-2013 and already has many members, including Mario Lemieux, Rick Kehoe, Jean Pronovost, Bob Johnson, Syl Apps, Dave Burrows, Edward DeBartolo, Elaine Heufelder, Jack Riley, Joe Mullen, Craig Patrick, Mike Lange, A.T. Caggiano, Les Binkley, Ulf Samuelsson, Vince Lascheid, Paul Coffey, Frank Sciulli, Mark Recchi, and Dr. Charles Burke.
There will be 10 more men inducted into the Hall of Fame over the next three years. Tom Barrasso, Ron Francis, Jaromir Jagr, Larry Murphy, Chris Kunitz, and Kevin Stevens will be inducted as players, while Jim Rutherford, Scotty Bowman, Eddie Johnston, and Ray Shero will be inducted as builders.
Four of those 10 will be inducted into the 2025 class in October, and an official announcement for that class will come in September. Fans will get the chance to see the class get honored before the Penguins' home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday, October 25. There will be an on-ice ceremony before puck drop.
The Penguins' Hall of Fame is also set to have its own space on the FedEx level inside PPG Paints Arena.
