The Columbus have made a decision on two prospects that they had until June 1 to make.
Martin Ryšavý and Tyler Peddle had until June 1st to be offered a contract by Columbus. Columbus chose to pass on both, which means they will now both be unrestricted free agents and free to sign wherever they'd like.
Ryšavý was chosen in the 7th round of the 2021 draft at pick #197. He came to North America in 2021 and played for the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL. He played three seasons in the WHL, scoring 44 goals and totaling 103 points.
He returned home to Czechia in 2024 to play for Bílí Tygři Liberec, where he would play in 52 games and total 9 points this past season.
Tyler Peddle was also a 7th round pick, but in 2023. Peddle was chosen as "Mr. Irrelevant" at pick #224. Peddle played parts of three seasons for the Drummondville Voltigeurs, before being traded to the Saint John's Sea Dogs in 2024.
Peddle scored a total of 137 points in 248 career games in the QMJHL. The Cleveland Monsters signed Peddle to a amateur tryout (ATO) contract on Mar 31, 2025, but he never appeared in any games.
The next non-roster player that they'll need to make a decision on is Aiden Hreschuk. The CBJ need to offer him a contract by Aug 15, or he'll be allowed to walk. Rumors from a few months ago say Hreschuk has no intentions of signing with Columbus, so they'll lose his rights we well.
