PITTSBURGH — The Toronto Maple Leafs activated Connor Dewar from injured reserve, and the forward will be in the lineup when the club visits the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena.

Shortly before warmups began, the club announced that they activated Dewar from injured reserve and placed veteran defenseman Chris Tanev on IR retroactive to Feb. 25.

With the Maple Leafs experiencing several game-time decisions with their lineup, moving Tanev to the IR allowed them to activate Dewar, who could then be slotted into Toronto's lineup. Toronto is currently at the maximum allowable 23-man roster limit. Dewar has been limited to 29 games this season and has three assists. He's been out of the lineup since Jan. 20 with an upper-body injury. Tanev has already been ruled out through Monday's game against the San Jose Sharks and the move doesn't affect the player's eligibility to play against the Vegas Golden Knights on Mar. 5 if healthy enough to return.
