The Chicago Steel signed forward Adam Valentini to a USHL tender agreement signing for the 2024–25 season. Valentini had 52 goals and 134 points for the Toronto Marlboros U16 team this past season.

The Steel will surrender their first and second-round picks in the 2024 USHL Phase I Draft next week, having signed defenseman Callum Croskery to a tender agreement earlier this year.

The 16-year-old Valentini led the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) in scoring in 2023–24 and was named Player of the Year after recording 31 goals and 67 points in 32 games.

“We’re excited to sign Adam to a tender agreement,” said Steel Head Coach and General Manager Mike Garman. “He’s an elite talent with great hockey intelligence who fits perfectly into the Chicago Steel style of play. Adam is a highly competitive player who impacts the game with and without the puck. Adam’s commitment to his development on and off the ice make him a perfect fit for the Chicago Steel and we can’t wait to see him in a Steel jersey this September.”

“I’m so excited to be joining an incredible organization with the Chicago Steel,” said Valentini. “It’s an honor to be a part of such a first-class organization, and I can’t wait to get started. I want to thank Coach Garman and the rest of the Chicago Steel staff for giving me this opportunity. I’m ready to help bring the Clark Cup back to Chicago!”

The left-shot forward, listed at 5-foot-11 and 183 pounds, becomes the 10th tender signing in Steel history.

Per the requirements of the USHL tender signing, Valentini will be on Chicago's regular-season roster for the 2024–25 season and play in at least 55% of the team's games.

The Toronto native was drafted 13th overall in the 2024 OHL Priority Draft by the Mississauga Steelheads but ultimately chose to play in the USHL next year.
