
The USHL announced the Players of the Week for games between March 25 and March 31.
USA Hockey's NTDP forward James Hagens, Dubuque Fighting Saints defenseman Fisher Scott, and Lincoln Stars netminder Yan Shostak all earned honors for their outstanding performances last week.
James Hagens (2025) had an impressive week, scoring five goals and providing three assists, eight points, nine shots on goal, and a +6 rating while helping the NTDP U18 squad to a 1-0-0-1 record.
In Friday's game against Dubuque, he scored a goal and assisted on another, helping his team to 5-4 to a shootout win. The following night, Hagens scored four goals with two assists for a career-best six points.
The 17-year-old is currently on a five-game point-scoring streak, with 13 points (7-6-13) during this stretch. During the 2023-24 season, Hagens has 16 goals and 43 points in 24 USHL games.
Fisher Scott played two games for Dubuque last week and recorded one goal, two assists, and three points. The Colorado College commit also took three shots on goal and scored the game-winner in Saturday's barnburner against the NTDP U18s.
On Friday, Scott assisted on Noah Powell's 36th goal of the season. The following night, he scored the game-winning goal in overtime and had the primary assist on Powell's 39th marker in the 7-6 victory over the U18s.
Scott is tied for second among all USHL defensemen with three game-winning goals this season. He has an impressive eight goals and 31 points in 57 games played, ranking 12th among USHL defensemen in scoring this season.
Yan Shostak earned his first weekly award after helping the Lincoln Stars to two wins. He stopped 70 of 72 shots, good for a 0.960 goals-against average and 0.964 save percentage.
In Friday's game against Sioux Falls, Shostak stopped 35 of 36 shots, helping his team to a 5-1 home win. On Saturday, he made 35 saves in regulation and all three in the shootout in Lincoln's 2-1 win over Tri-City,
Shostak has won three of his last four games, with a 2.25 goals-against average and a 0.934 save percentage. In his first USHL season, his record stands at 18-17-1-1, along with a 3.10 goals-against average and a 0.900 percentage.
