Green Bay’s Vasily Zelenov put together a four-point weekend while goaltender Gavin Moffatt earned his third career shutout and a pair of wins

The USHL announced its third Players of the Week on Monday as Green Bay forward Vasily Zelenov, Madison defenseman Colton Jamieson and Green Bay goaltender Gavin Moffatt took home the respective honors for Week 3.

Zelenov, a Buffalo Sabres draft pick (2024, 204th overall) and Wisconsin commit, picked up an assist on Friday as Green Bay earned a 3-0 win over Omaha in its home opener.

Zelenov followed it up with an empty-netter and a pair of helpers on Saturday, en route to a 4-2 win. The Russian forward finished the weekend with four shots on goal and a plus-4 rating as the Gamblers swept Omaha.

Saturday yielded both the first goal and multi-point game of Zelenov’s USHL career. He currently leads Green Bay with six points (1-5-6), which is also tied for third among USHL skaters.

Jamieson also put together a multi-point weekend, as the left-shot blue liner had a goal and two assists. Jamieson scored Madison’s first goal on Friday as the Capitols earned a 3-2 win at Tri-City, ultimately splitting the weekend series. He also helped Madison’s penalty kill finish the weekend a perfect 5-for-5.

The St. Thomas commit has four points (1-3-4) through five games, which is tied for third among USHL defensemen. Friday’s goal was the seventh of his USHL career and also came on the man advantage, which was his first career power-play marker.

Rounding out the group is Moffatt, who made 55 of a possible 57 saves and earned his second and third wins of the season – which are tied for second among USHL goaltenders.

Moffatt also recorded his third career shutout of the season on Friday as he went a perfect 25-for-25 in the 3-0 win over Omaha. The Connecticut native followed it up with another 30 saves on Saturday as the Gamblers skated to a 4-2 win, securing the four-point weekend.

Moffatt is 3-2-0 with a .940 save percentage and 1.78 GAA this season and 14-8-3 with a .907 and 2.90 respectively in his USHL career.
