    Winnipeg will take on Toronto from Ontario on Monday afternoon.

    The 24-10-1 Winnipeg Jets have travelled to Toronto for a rare Monday afternoon test against the 21-11-2 Maple Leafs. 

    Available to view on TSN, the matinee affair features a 1:00 PM central start time and will serve as Winnipeg's lone visit to Toronto this season. 

    The Jets are coming off their eighth-straight victory over the Minnesota Wild, as they beat their nearest geographical rival 5-0 from Canada Life Centre on Saturday night. 

    The win was another of the Jets' up-and-down month of December. However, Winnipeg will be playing a bit more gumption on Monday, as Toronto was the team that ended the Jets' season-opening eight-game winning streak. The Jets actually haven't beaten the Maple Leafs since 2021. 

    Toronto will not have captain Auston Matthews in the lineup do to a re-aggravation of his earlier injury, while the Jets may or may not be without their captain, as Adam Lowry left Saturday's game early with some sort of ailment. Nikolaj Ehlers also missed the team's skate on Sunday.

    Connor Hellebuyck will get the start in Winnipeg's final game before the Christmas break.
