Following a year in which she stepped away from the game, Michelle Pasiechnyk has returned to the sport after joining Boston University for the upcoming season, the team announced Monday.

The Ottawa, Ontario native will look to pick up where she left off following four strong seasons with the Clarkson University Golden Knights. During that time, Pasiechnyk would amass a 74-28-5 record, along with 21 shutouts, a 1.58 goals against average and a .935 save percentage, while making 2449 total saves.

She was also named NCAA Goaltender of the Year in 2024 after going 25-5-1 with eight shutouts, beating out Raygan Kirk of Ohio State, and Gwyneth Philips of Northeastern, who was the reigning award winner.

What makes Michelle Pasiechnyk such a strong goaltender, and one to watch as she rejoins the college ranks, is that she's positionally sound and calm in goal. Pasiechnyk is also aggressive, comfortable coming out to challenge the shooters, and is never out of a play, using her edges to move laterally with ease.

Heading into the 2026 PWHL Draft, Michelle Pasiechnyk has undoubtedly become the top goalie on the board, and if her performances at every level of her career are any indication, GMs will be lining up to have the opportunity to call her name.
