The PWHL is going from six to eight teams this season. The league intends to continue expanding, and could do so again following this season.
The goal of the league is to reach 12 teams prior to the expiration of the current CBA in 2031. With the league heading west to Seattle and Vancouver this year, expansion could occur anywhere in North America next year.
